Fall is Approaching, Time for a Fresh Start

August 24, 2011by Ted Hunter

Summer is rapidly coming to a close. As kids head back to school it seems that this time of year motivates people to get a little more serious minded and reflective. Realizing that more than half of the year is over, many start making lists of what they would like to accomplish by year’s end.

What would you like to accomplish?

This is not a question I ask lightly; it’s a very important question, as is your answer. Now is a great time to reassess where you are with both your life goals and your money management plan because this plan supports your ability to reach many of your goals. In fact, this plan is designed to take you to your goals.

It’s never too late to take control of your finances, to plan your future, or to reach for your dreams.  One of the reasons I wrote Money Smart and created www.MoneySmartOnline.com was to bring back to Americans who are struggling in this difficult economy a common sense approach to managing their money. It’s never too late to reach your dreams and realize your desire to be financially free.

We are living in very challenging financial times. Most people have suffered painful losses in their long-term savings. For the millions who have lost their jobs—or even their homes—the challenge is greater yet.

There is no easy answer. However, there are many tactics you can learn and employ to survive now, minimize further damage, and even prosper as you move forward. Educate yourself in common sense, successful, real-world money management and use the practical tools you need to put it into action. It’s never too late to open the door to true success regarding spending, saving, and investing your money. You can do a good job of it on your own, and if you want help getting started, that’s always available too.

Fall is a great time to reflect on what you would like to accomplish by the end of the year. You can also use this time to learn some new strategies for reaching those goals. Success with money is within your reach. Keep trying, keep learning, and don’t give up. You will be amazed at what you can achieve.
