Apparently a monster hack has happened where they say like 100 million people.. about 40% of us.. have had their info gotten.. social security number, name and address, phone number, etc. and are therefore now exposed to being financially hacked. A link to an article on this is provided below.
After thinking about this I decided to put a freeze on my credit with the 3 major credit agencies.. Equifax, Experian and Transunion.
What this does is that nobody including me can apply for a loan, get a credit card or whatever as my credit is frozen, and I can always release the freeze if someday I do want some new credit, loan or whatever.
Not telling you what to do, just something to be aware of and possibly consider doing.
