Know Your Investment Options

May 13, 2011by Ted Hunter

In my book, Money Smart I explain that the standard investing advice of “always invest for the long run” is nothing more than a highly destructive myth. All markets go through periods when they are substantially over- or under-priced. Simply put: The market changes, so why would you just leave your money alone and hope for the best? It is critical to know the current status of any market you are—or are considering—investing in. For this reason I offer my evaluations of the investment markets as they change and shift, which is only a few times a year. You can also sign up for Smart Alerts to receive email notifications of changes in my investment advice.

Always keep in mind that you can and should manage your own money. People often believe the myth that they need the advice of a financial advisor to guide their investing decisions, which is simply not the case. With a little bit of education, you will see that the world of investing is not so hard to understand. I offer my investment advice through my money book and website to help people as they navigate their finances and become empowered to take control of their money. And my advice (time-tested and proven by my personal success and the success of those who have taken my investment advice) is free! So go check it out.
